6/4/2010 - Niagara Falls Robbery at Gale`s Gas Bar

On Sunday May 9th, 2010, at approximately 1:30 pm, a robbery occurred at the Gale’s Gas Bar, located at 5641 Stanley Avenue, in the City of Niagara Falls.

 

A lone male entered the kiosk brandishing a weapon and approached an employee who was seated behind the counter.  The suspect demanded money from the employee, and then proceeded to flee the scene on foot.  The suspect was last seen headed southbound on Stanley Avenue from Emery Street.

 

Uniform members of the Niagara Regional Police Service attended the location along with members of the Forensic Services Unit. 

 

The employee sustained no injuries.

 

The suspect is described as:

 

1)    White male, approximately 5’6” to 5’9” tall, between 25-30 years of age with a thin build, wearing a black track suit and a white baseball hat.

6/4/2010 - Niagara Falls Robbery

On Monday May 24th, 2010, at approximately 12:20 am, a robbery occurred near the intersection of McGrail Avenue and Centre Street in the city of Niagara Falls.

 

Two male suspects approached the victim and demanded that the victim surrender personal property.  The victim refused and a physical altercation ensued, resulting in the victim being attacked by the suspects.  The suspects were last seen fleeing the area on foot.

 

The suspects are described as:

 

1)    Male, white, 5`4"-5`6" tall, 20-30 years old, short brush cut dirty blonde hair, light blue eyes.

 

2)    Male, possibly Native Indian, 6`2"- 6`4" tall, shaggy black hair 3"-4" long, brown eyes, bushy eyebrows.

5/28/2010 - Niagara Falls Masonic Temple Vandalized

Between the mornings of Friday May 21st, 2010, and Saturday May 22nd, 2010, the Masonic Temple located at 5269 Van Alstyne Place, was vandalized.

 

The suspect vandalized the front door, located on south side of the Masonic Temple, and the north side of the Shiv Mandir Temple, with red spray paint.  The suspect spray-painted various numbers and tags, along with various degrading phrases containing profanity, and pictures.

 

Police are seeking assistance from the public for any information related to this ongoing investigation.

5/21/2010 - Welland Break & Enter

Between Friday May 7th, 2010, at approximately 5:00 pm and Saturday May 8th, 2010 at 9:30 am, a residential break and enter occurred on the east side of the city of Welland. 

 

The suspect circumvented residential security features, and was able to gain entry on the property.  The suspect stole approximately 10,000 stainless steel rods from the owner’s inventory.  The stolen items are generally used in the construction/farming industry.

 

Police are seeking the assistance from the public and businesses dealing with scrap metal for any information related to this ongoing investigation.

5/14/2010 - Police Request Assistance Regarding Break and Enters in Niagara on the Lake

On Sunday, May 2nd, 2010 at approximately 4:30 am Niagara Regional Police responded to a break and enter at an address on Concession 2 in Niagara on the Lake.

The suspect(s) tried to enter a barn at the residence, which was alarmed, causing the unknown person(s) to flee.

The Canine Unit commenced a track from this location that led to another two addresses on Concession 2. At one of the locations, a front door was found wide open.

The suspect(s) managed to elude police.

At approximately 4:30 pm on the same date, police were called by a neighbouring property owner who owns two barns on East West Line. The owner reported that two of his barns, which are approximately 100 yards apart, had both been entered. A small Honda dirt bike had been stolen from one of the barns and was later recovered a short distance away.

4/30/2010 - Tire Vandalism in St. Catharines

Between Saturday April 17th, 2010 at 11:00 pm, and Sunday April 18th , 2010 at 8:30 am, several vehicle tires were slashed in a residential neighbourhood in the city of St. Catharines.

Two vehicles were parked overnight on Bula Drive in central St. Catharines; several drivers’ side tires were cut with a sharp object.

4/23/2010 - Break and Enter in Industrial Area of St. Catharines

Between November 2009, and April 2010, three break and enters have occurred at Cirrus Management  Contracting, located at 35 Seapark Drive in the city of St. Catharines.Cirrus Management Contracting is situated on the east side of a multi-business complex.

On Friday November 30th, 2009, at approximately 8:00 pm, the suspect(s) gained entry to the business and removed a quantity of office equipment. On

Friday January 29th, 2010, at approximately 10:15 pm, the suspect(s) again gained entry into the building. The suspect(s) stole additional office equipment and fled the scene.

On Tuesday April 13th, 2010, at approximately 10:30 pm, the suspect(s) gained entry a third time into the business. A grey vehicle, similar to a Kia Sportage, was seen in front of the business. A male suspect was observed leaving the business with stolen office equipment that he had placed in the rear of his vehicle. The male suspect was wearing a black jacket and black balaclava.

4/16/2010 - Mischief in Grimsby

Between March 17th and 28th, 2010, a residential property, several vehicles, and a community mailbox were vandalized in the central zone of the city of Grimsby.

On Wednesday March 17th, 2010, black spray paint was used to write offensive words on a residential fence. During the evening of Saturday March 27th, 2010 and early morning of Sunday March 28th, 2010, the neighborhood was vandalized again. Several vehicles were spray painted with purple paint, displaying insulting words and pictures. A community mailbox was also pushed onto the roadway.

4/9/2010 - Niagara Falls House Fire

On Sunday March 28th, 2010 at approximately 7am, the Niagara Regional Police and the Niagara Falls Fire Department were dispatched to a residence at 4981 Stanley Avenue in Niagara Falls.

Upon arrival, emergency services encountered a working fire with large amounts of smoke bellowing from the residence.

The Niagara Falls Fire Department was able to extinguish the flames however extensive damage was caused to the structure. Nobody was inside the residence at the time of the fire and no injuries were sustained as a result of this incident.

An investigation by the Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office has determined that the fire was suspicious in nature and appears to be arson.

4/1/2010 - Police Assistance Requested for Welland Break and Enter

On Monday March 15th, 2010 members of the Niagara Regional Police Service were called to an apartment at 939 East Main Street in Welland for a break and enter that had occurred.

The victim had returned home at approximately 11pm on this date to find the front door wide open.

Upon inspecting the apartment, the victim discovered a quantity of items had been stolen, including a computer, electronic equipment and tools. The building was canvassed by police but no suspects were identified.
