7/23/2010 - Interpol and Crime Stoppers - Worldwide Criminal Hunt

WORKING TOGETHER FOR A SAFER COMMUNITY.

Crime Stoppers International (CSI) in conjunction with its affiliated Crime Stoppers programs, like Crime Stoppers throughout Canada, is supporting INTERPOL in a global fugitive hunt, called Operation INFRA (International Fugitive Round Up and Arrest).  This INTERPOL lead initiative is intended to apprehend fugitives that are sought both domestically and by other countries.

About INFRA

Today marks the beginning of an intense effort on a global scale where Crime Stoppers with its resources in communities and the media around the world, will assist INTERPOL in tracking down these highly sought after criminals.  Crime Stoppers in Australia, USA, UK, Canada, and Netherlands are participating in this operation.  These participating countries have a combined population of almost 500 million people, with combined police force of almost One million so they NEED community assistance.  500 million pairs of community eyes and ears are a great help to police.  If you have any information on these fugitives, no matter how trivial you think it might be, and then let us know.

1. To view these persons of interest visit: www.interpol.int

2. Provide an anonymous TIP call: 1-800 222 8477

3. To provide information via email: fugitive@interpol.int

(NOTE: information provided to Interpol will be treated in confidence, but unlike

Crime Stoppers, will not be anonymous)

Crime Stoppers International, Media Affairs Director Peter Price says:  “The Initiative is well and truly an international one.  We live in a global community, and these people have family and friends, and are lurking in our communities, they need to be weeded out, once and for all.  500 million pairs of community eyes and ears, means the odds are well and truly stacked against them.  Reporting the whereabouts of fugitives makes a difference in fighting crime, crime that undermines the democracy and the safety of our communities.  Price continued, “You, the community are your own first line of defense and your best weapon is the PHONE OR PC.  If you recognize any of these fugitives report it.”
